Our values express the biblical convictions we prize and seek to cultivate in the life of our church. Rooted in the gospel and governed by the Scriptures, they shape how we worship, grow, serve one another, order our homes, and carry out Christ’s mission in the world.
At the heart of our corporate worship is the Christ-centered proclamation of the Scriptures. Because all of God's promises find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ, we are committed to preaching that faithfully explains the meaning of Scripture and joyfully exults in the Triune God whom it reveals. Rather than treating the Bible as a sourcebook for religious ideas, moral advice, or practical principles, we seek to proclaim the whole counsel of God in a way that magnifies the person and work of Christ, awakens holy affections, deepens worship, strengthens His church, and calls sinners to repentance and faith. We ordinarily preach consecutively through books of the Bible, allowing God's Word to set the agenda, because we believe Christ builds, beautifies, and emboldens His church through the Spirit-empowered proclamation of His Word.
Because God is infinitely holy and worthy of all praise, we seek to serve Him with fear and rejoice with trembling (Psalm 2:11). Through Christ, we draw near with reverence and awe, yet also with joy, gratitude, and gladness. We desire our gatherings to be simple, Scripture-saturated, Christ-exalting, and congregational, shaped not by entertainment, performance, trendiness, or personal preference, but by the Word of God. In worship, magnifying God and rejoicing in His infinite worth take priority over self-expression and the experience of the worshiper. Through Scripture reading, prayer, singing, the weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and the preaching of the Word, we seek to offer worship that pleases God and edifies His people.
Christ has appointed ordinary means by which He gathers, nourishes, strengthens, and preserves His people: the reading and preaching of Scripture, prayer, baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and the fellowship of the saints. Rather than relying on novelty, spectacle, or pragmatic methods to produce spiritual life and growth, we devote ourselves to what God has ordained, trusting the Holy Spirit to use these ordinary means to accomplish His extraordinary work in the church.
We believe the local church is more than a voluntary association of like-minded individuals or a spiritual service provider for individual Christians. It is the blood-bought family of God, the body of Christ, the household of faith, and the pillar and buttress of the truth. Church membership is therefore more than a name on a roster; it is a joyful and solemn covenant commitment to love, serve, encourage, and care for one another under the lordship of Christ. Through faithful gathering, mutual accountability, prayer, service, and the exercise of our spiritual gifts, we seek to build one another up and stir one another to love and good works as we await the return of our King.
We believe every Christian is called to lifelong growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Discipleship is not a program for a select few, but the ordinary calling of every believer and an essential part of the Great Commission. Christ commands His church not only to make disciples, but to teach them to obey all that He has commanded, leading them toward maturity and conformity to His image. Through the ministry of the Word, prayer, fellowship, correction, encouragement, and godly example, we seek to help one another put sin to death, grow in holiness, and become more like our Savior. We desire not merely to know His truth, but to walk in “the obedience of faith” and to help others do the same (Romans 1:5).
Sound doctrine, spiritual gifts, good books, and even “a reputation of being alive” are not enough (Revelation 3:1). Apart from Christ, we can do nothing of eternal significance. Prayerlessness exposes a dangerous contradiction between our profession and practice: we may confess God’s sovereignty while acting as though everything depends upon us, or speak of the Spirit’s power while relying upon our own wisdom and strength. We therefore devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word, allowing truth to lead us into worship, confession, trust, intercession, and deeper communion with God. We labor diligently, yet depend wholly upon the Spirit to save sinners, sanctify His people, strengthen the weak, and build Christ’s church.
Because the gospel reconciles us not only to God but also to one another, we seek to cultivate a life together marked by sincere love, humility, hospitality, generosity, patience, forgiveness, and mutual care. Our fellowship is more than friendliness or shared interests; it is participation in Christ expressed through bearing one another’s burdens, rejoicing and weeping together, confessing sin, speaking the truth in love, and extending the grace we have received from God. When tempted toward bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness, we remember that the gospel that saves us also unites us in Christ and breaks down the barriers between us. Across differences of age, background, personality, and circumstance, we desire to display its reconciling power as one body united in Christ.
We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God for salvation and the only hope for a lost and dying world. We therefore embrace Christ’s commission to make disciples of all nations, proclaiming the gospel boldly within our daily spheres of influence and to the ends of the earth. We also seek to strengthen Christ’s church by helping equip faithful pastors, especially in underserved regions, with sound theological resources for the care of Christ’s flock. Jesus Christ, the promised Offspring of Abraham, came to bring the blessing of salvation to all peoples. Therefore, we eagerly await the day when His multiethnic Bride, gathered from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation, is presented to Him in splendor, holy and without blemish.
God has entrusted parents with the primary responsibility of bringing up their children in the discipline and instruction of Christ. The church does not replace the home, but equips, encourages, and supports parents as they teach the Scriptures, model repentance and faith, pray with their children, and order family life under Christ’s lordship. We encourage families to worship together on the Lord’s Day, believing that parents and children are best served as they pray, sing, hear the Scriptures, and sit together under the ministry of the Word. We desire our homes to be places where prayer, family worship, and the gospel are woven into the ordinary rhythms of life, trusting God to use the faithful witness of parents and the wider church to raise up generations who know, love, trust, and treasure the King in all His beauty.
